The publishing industry is a complex beast, and the
introduction of accessible print-on-demand services like Amazon’s CreateSpace
has made the process of releasing a book more confusing and more feasible at
the same time. I help authors and organizations to leverage the potential of
books and publishing by guiding them through the book development process, the
proposal process, and the process of marketing their polished products.

Angelo Armenti Jr.
Dr. Angelo Armenti Jr. was the President of California University
of Pennsylvania for 20 years and was a Dean at Villanova University before
that. I helped Angelo design a three-book series that examines the future of
higher education in Pennsylvania through the lens of his academic career and extensive scholarly research. After guiding him through the process of writing his first book and
working with him to coordinate the design, layout, and production of his book, he is slated to release Privatization Without a Plan in Sept. 2013.

Proposal Development |
Ideahaus
As part of the Ideahaus creative team, I spearheaded the
development of a book proposal for Kevin Popovic’s trademarked Satellite
Marketing process, a guide for businesses that want to use social media to grow
their reach and profits. With Kevin’s outline and sample chapter in hand, I
conducted market research on competitors and opportunities and drafted a
comprehensive proposal. Because of that proposal, Kevin received offers from
Transmedia Books and a division of Taylor & Francis and is now engaged in a multi-book deal. Satellite Marketing is currently
in development.
Non-Profit Publishing |
California University
of Pennsylvania
The President of Cal U asked me to investigate the potential benefits of establishing a University Press on Cal U's campus. In his mind, the press
could provide a platform for faculty and perhaps fund scholarships. After a
year of research and development—which became the foundation of my Master’s Thesis
at West Virginia University—I proposed a publishing model that would lower
textbook costs for students, generate revenue for scholarships, and give faculty
access to a publisher uniquely positioned to increase awareness for their work
and their expertise. Unfortunately, the project was unexpectedly scrapped in
its first phase of implementation when the State suddenly forced Cal U’s
President to vacate his position.
